Cognoscenti custom cue $15000
This cue was purchased by me in 1996. I played with this cue for several years. I gave the cue to Jennifer Chen to use for a couple of years while she had her Cognoscenti built. She won several tournaments with this cue including the Japanese open in late 1990. The original retail price of this cue was $15000 and there is no premium attached to this cue because it was played with by a professional player. The cue is basic ebony with 5 double vision points in both the forearm and butt-sleeve. Between each point is an ivory oval with an ebony diamond inside the oval with a gold dot in the center of the diamond. Inside the center of each point is an ebony oval with an ivory diamond inside the oval with a gold dot in the center of the diamond. In the forearm, at the base of each point is an ebony diamond with a gold dot in the center. In the butt-sleeve points, this ebony dot appears in both the top and bottom of the point. At the tip and base of each point is an ebony dot. The starbursts are made of 10 individual gold pieces. There are a total of 20 in the cue, 5 at the top and bottom of each point in both the forearm and butt-sleeve. Inside the top portion of each point in the forearm is an ebony spear with a gold line running inside the spear. Between each point in the forearm is inlayed an ivory diamond with a gold dot. Above and below each of these diamonds is a gold line. There are over 200 individual gold inlays in this cue. The cue has an ivory collar, ivory butt-cap and silver stitched rings at the collar, above and below the irish linen wrap and in the butt-cap. This ring also appears on each of the 3 shafts that come with this cue. Each shaft also has an ivory collar. The cue weighs 18.8 ounces and comes with a Whitten 1 X 3 case.
